Mini Farm
Mini Farm is a social enterprise that LuvaBerry has given land to so they can grow food to feed local Moreton Bay Charities.
Last year 1.2 million of our Australian children and 1 in 6 adults went hungry. That means there is not enough food in the system to meet the current demand.
Charities cannot keep up with demand and more people are turning to food relief for assistance.
The Mini Farm Project is a charity working to eradicate hunger by creating a network of charity farms to grow food for people in need all year round. This food is then given at no cost to local charities to create meals.
How it works
We do two things:
- Create urgently needed food to fill the shortfall
- Save charities buying food by giving it to them for free
LuvaBerry has donated the use of 1 to 5 acres for our first charity farm in Wamuran. This will be stage one of many more.
Food from the farm will be given to:
- Caboolture Community Action
- Moreton Bay Community Matters
- Breakfast Club Redcliffe
- Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay
- And other local charities
