Our produce
Lovingly grown
LuvaBerry is the only farm in the region that offers such a varied combination of produce. Our farm is home to bright, juicy Queensland strawberries, a number of herbs such as chives, sage, and thyme, as well as cucamelons, and native finger limes.
We’ve collaborated with local farms to take a stance against food waste, and have created our own solution: a range of healthy freeze-dry snacks that are grown, packaged, and sold by the farmer directly. Packed with nutrients and no added nasties, our signature products preserve the quality of the fruit and provide customers with a healthy and versatile snack.
Through thoughtful and sustainable farming practices, we aim to supply our communities with food they can feel good about supporting – and eating!
Strawberries
LuvaBerry’s goal is to provide Australia with sweet, fresh and super juicy fruit. We make sure our high quality strawberries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, when they are at their fullest and reddest. By picking, packing, and sending our strawberries off to premium markets on the same day, we can ensure a consistent standard of quality control.
We value all of our strawberries – even the ones higher supply chains deem “too ugly” to sell. That’s why we turn any fruit that would originally be considered waste into healthy freeze-dry snacks for you to enjoy. And we think that’s a beautiful thing!
Locals can buy directly from us, in any quantity starting at one kilogram. Reduce plastic and bring your own container. Please contact us to organise a time.
Herbs
LuvaBerry currently grows a selection of herbs on the farm: sage, thyme, and chives.
This diversification of produce has supported LuvaBerry in operating commercially out of the Queensland strawberry season. These herbs are grown and sorted on the farm, then sold at market to restaurants across the country.
We have partnered with farm friend – Stone & Lea to create a unique sage butter that is available to try and purchase from our Farm Gate stall. Paired with some potatoes it’s irresistible.
Join us at an open day or on a farm tour to learn more about the herbs we grow on the farm and there may even be the opportunity to purchase some fresh cuttings.
Cucamelons
This year LuvaBerry added a brand new member to the team – the quirky little fruit known as the cucamelon. Often referred to as the “mouse melon,” this seasonal summer fruit grows in abundance on the vine, making it easy for the kiddos to pluck. Don’t be fooled by their adorable appearance, though – this small fruit is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. While they resemble tiny watermelons, the taste is best described as a lime-dipped cucumber with sweet undertones. The fresh flavours and crunchy skin make them a perfect addition to a summer salad, salsa, cocktail garnish, or on its own as a cheeky afternoon snack.
Moreton Bay Finger Limes
Finger limes – the unique native citrus fruit known and used by Aboriginal people, is now a delicacy used by chefs around the world.
We have planted and cared for a total of 1200 trees at LuvaBerry with three different varieties – Byron Sunrise, Champagne and Alstonville & Emerald. Unfortunately, the unprecedented weather and floods in 2022 has meant we lost a number of trees in our orchard and are still assessing the damage.
Each variety has a slightly different flavour and colour. Unlike other citrus they can also be frozen, and this allows a year-round supply. The fruit is sold fresh in season with a shelf life of 2-4 weeks if kept cool, or frozen for year-long supply.
